About Her
I've had a varied and interesting life so far and am in a happy and contented space.
I'm definitely not a party animal; would rather enjoy good conversation and getting to know people in relaxed settings. I also need a fair amount time out from company to recharge.
I'm a compulsive reader, love learning new things and would like to travel more, to explore places local and foreign. I happily quit a stressful job (aka semi-retired) and am beginning to set up new streams of income to supplement my pension and support future projects.
My legacy vision is about creating a thriving network of training centres and long-term opportunities for regenerative agriculture (and perhaps green building) ... but let me not get started on that now.
I live simply, love being outdoors and am looking to get back into the habit of regular hiking. Currently I just aim to take a daily walk and do the parkrun (or parkwalk) most weekends. Maybe I'll take up ballroom dancing again, which I seem to remember enjoying in my youth but am now too embarrassed to try in public until I can relearn it.
Though I do make an effort to look presentable, I'm not much into fashion, make-up and fancy brand labels. Somehow that just never became a priority, especially when the price of a handbag would buy a dozen great books. So if you require someone who looks as though she just stepped off the cover of Vogue, keep scrolling.
I'm in two minds about being on a dating site: am pretty content and happy as I am, and yet I suspect life would be more fulfilling with someone around to share it. I guess there's only one way to find out.
About Her Ideal Match
My ideal match is someone I can relax with - it's not about impressing and being impressed. Kindness, integrity and respect for others speak volumes.
Though my friends range across many faiths (or none), for a life partner I'd be looking for a Christian (not too narrow - I'm not easily boxed in), and one who actually practises his faith and attends church.
You enjoy real, in-depth conversation and have a range of interests, along with a sense of humour. You recognise that you don't always have (or need to have) the answers.
You generally make healthy lifestyle choices and are fairly active - perhaps hiking, paddling or cycling. That said, I realise it's been a while since I did any cycling or paddling myself - could do with some encouragement.
You have at least some level of interest in environmental responsibility/ sustainable living, otherwise my habits of recycling etc and dreams of an eco-friendly home and organic gardening will drive you up the wall.
And since we're talking 'ideal', you might also be vegetarian/vegan - and enjoy cooking. (Pushing my luck there? Maybe you love washing up too.)
But mainly we'd need to be on the same wavelength and tend to bring out the best in each other. I have yet to figure out what determines these things - it's a mystery, as is 'chemistry'.

All that said, I find the dating arena a pretty alien place, and having to narrow the focus from potential friends to an "ideal match" adds unwelcome pressure. But I see some great guys here, so will venture out of my inner hermitage in the hope of encountering good company, kindred spirits and potential friends. And who knows where that elusive 'ideal match' might be lurking.
(P.S. If you message, please don't just say "Hi," or some strange and cryptic thing. I've realised that I'm looking for someone with at least reasonable English communication skills.)
